How do we foster new ways to teach?
|Creative Education Award|
XYD Foundation announces the Creative Education Award
The competition is open to all schools and to any teacher in the USA. We welcome entrants from other countries to send their lesson plans, too. Contest ends on 1 May 2016. The award will be presented to a teacher before May 15 of each year.
First prize: $500 for the winning school
Second price: $300
Third prize: $200
Purpose: XYD Foundation has a mission… to foster creativity in schools. We know some of the practices that encourage creativity, but some teachers “teach the way they were taught” and they might be unwilling to try a new approach. This Award is your excuse to experiment.
Teachers: Submit a lesson plan and at least one example of student work that was produced …
Send your lesson plan and other materials to email@example.com
Last year’s winning submission was sent by Steve McCrea
“The History in Reverse Personal History Workbook Lesson”
The product by one of his students, Frantz Saintvil, was included in a workbook. The book can be downloaded at www.TinyURL.com/PersonalHistoryEbook.
The lesson plan appears on pages
What to expect: In May a panel of independent judges will evaluate the submitted lesson plans and select the “most creative” lesson plans using a point system.

Other Rules: Teachers who are employed by XYD Foundation and their family members are not eligible for the cash prizes. Their lesson plans are welcomed and they can submit entries that can receive commendations.
The lesson plans and the students’ work remain the property of the teachers and studnets. By entering the contest, you give permission to XYD Foundation to make copies of the lesson plan and the student products and to make available for others to see these products.
